Occupational Therapy Programme at West Bank
Since 1996 NETF mange aid for the Palestinian
Occupational Therapy programme at Bethlehem University. The
project is funded in collaboration with Irish Aid and NORAD
(Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation) and NETF. NETF
is also giving consultancy support by regular meetings. The
programme is 4 year, giving a Bachelor of Science degree in
Occupational Therapy.
The study started in September 1996, and the
first cohort of students graduated spring 2000, most of them
are working as occupational therapist within the Palestine
Authorities. Until the first group of students graduated there
were only 6 occupational therapist working in the West Bank.
The programme was approved by World Federation
of Occupational Therapist unanimously at the Interim Council
Meeting in Sapporo Japan May 2000.
